a couple days late

Gee I really do love Christmas. So much actually, that I have spent the past few days in a chocolate coma under the tree. Oh well, holidays are for taking it easy, right ? I got amazing presents: leather gloves, 3 books, a curling iron, woollen socks and lots of chocolate. Not much, but I love each and every one.

Christmas 2011 was amazing !

CHRISTMAS !
it's not until tomorrow but I'm already suffering from a major chocolate overdose, how is this even possible...
Anyhow, during the holidays I've decided to sleep, drive lots (yes you read right, I finally got my drivers license), eat, eat some more, sleep, surf the internet, eat, sleep, wait did I say eat ? also I will surf the internet.

What is often forgotten is that it's in the midst of sadness and trouble that you really see what's important.

For me sadness right now, this second, is that there's no snow and it's almost Christmas.
And that one of my best friends has to suffer and cry.

But what I now realise is

That even if there's no snow, Christmas will still come and it will be just as lovely as I make it.

That I need to show my love to those near to me, for they might not be there tomorrow.

And that true friends are more than people. They are larger-than-life-thingys, something inexplicable, something irreplaceable.



I love you. With all my heart. I wish there was a way to show it every single second of every single day. Yet all I can do is hope. Hope that you know.

* Writing my letter to Santa and actually sending it (my god I really am insane aren't I..)

* Chocolate (which I wasn't supposed to eat until Christmas Eve.. I blame mom.)

The only thing bothering me is the fact that I have not succeeded to buy/make any presents yet. Well, as I've told myself before, I still have time ! Or not, just realized 18 days isn't really that much... Bugger...

The ultimate Christmas time song part 2 !

Whilst I'm most definitely under the weather and my looks are somewhere in between a drowned cockroach and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, things keeping me among the living are White Teeth, hankies, tea and music. When things as lovely as sleeping become a challenge due to a blocked nose, reading and lying on bed are the best (and only) options for survival. I'm thankful for the weekend.

Dear Mother Nature

Here's the deal. I need snow. My body, soul and mind need it. Don't get me wrong, I love autumn. I love November and the darkness. But it has been going on for a bit too long. I miss last Christmas, just look at the pictures and you will, too ! The snow, the cold, everything ! I hereby kindly request that you, Mother Nature take care of this problem of lacking snow as soon as possible, if not sooner. I need snow.

I have no reason to reason with you

Some pathetic photos trying to point out that I have probably the most awesome nails ! As fake as they might be, I adore them. For forever I've been searching for a metallic nailpolish and failed to find a decent one. When I saw these at the store, oh my, it was love at first sight ! I know they are a bit peculiar but for me, these are perfect. I just cannot stop staring at my fingers ! I'm weird...

"Books?? You were that exited about books ?"

As a matter of fact I was. I have been turning into this huge (haha,literally) bookworm. I have always loved books but somehow that love has magnified recently. My absolute favorite book is Diane Setterfield's The Thirteenth Tale.

But on to these new ones. The reason I bought Zadie Smith's White Teeth is that I really don't know anything about it. Well, actually, I do know that it is well praised and widely popular but other than that, I genuinely have no clue what it is about. Also, I'm doing a treatise on English literature and this book will be a subject for it. I can't wait to get started !

A confession... I am a total sucker for The Vampire Diaries. Especially the books. The bottom one on the pile in the first picture is the one I'm finishing as we speak. They have that unknown something in them. Maybe it's the vampires (the Salvatores, to be blunt) or the gloominess, I don't know, but somehow these books have made me their hostage. And the way L.J. Smith ends each book, you are left gobsmacked and ready to kill for the next book, oh, I get goosepimples even thinking about it. And to avoid the urge to kill after finishing book 5, I bought book 6 ! After I've read White Teeth, I will sink my fangs into this lovely one.

If you didn't die due to boredom reading this (and if you did, I'm sorry) I'm happy to announce that I might be making short preview on White Teeth as soon as I finish it, mainly to help me with handling the treatise.
