This winter is a bit of a blurry one for me. I remember cramming for my marticulation exams and stressing a lot. I also remember that it was cold as fuck, I went on a cruise, apparently squeezed my dog to bits, had my nails done by a friend and, yes I quite certainly went to a bunch of parties as well.
Winter was quite calm. Almost boring if I'm being completely honest. The anticipation for the things that were yet to come during spring was so huge that I think that might have drowned the winter spirit for me. Oh well. I had fun at times !
On to the spring then !
Oh my gosh, what a fuss this spring was ! In some ways it was a good fuss, in other ways not as much. I studied and went to a whole lot of entrance exams, got nice grades from my marticulation exams, was scared of the future and took A LOT of pictures apparently. Oh I remember reading that entrance exam material (seen in the photo second to last) and being so excited about the stuff that was in it ! Now that I've done that particular course, I am not even half as psyched as I was back then ! Funny.
I also ate a lot during spring ! At least that's what my picture folders tell me. Also, my hair was curly for like 90% of the time.
This spring was definitely a life changing one for me !
Summer ! Oh gorgeous, lovely summer !
..which I spent working. I didn't mind though, I had a decent amount of days off as well so I didn't miss out on the loveliness completely.
I got the results from my entrance exams, and for a while it seemed as though I had not been accepted to any of the universities I applied for. I wasn't too upset, actually I was quite thrilled that I'd be having a leap year. BUT THEN everything changed. Towards the end of the summer I got a letter, telling me I had received place for a university because someone didn't want to attend there. And boy was I happy ! Then began the enormous task of finding an apartment and wrapping my mind around the fact that I would start my studies in a real university. GOSH !
Autumn.
Well, I found a place to live in (my glorious apartment of which you shall receive more pictures when the time is right) and got settled into the uni life. I did a lot of socializing and gained new friends quite fast. As the autumn went on, I had some motivational issues with school. But that's completely normal during the first year, right ?
This autumn time I learned a lot about many things such as living alone, what's it like taking the train 4 times during one weekend, university life, myself, and so on. I really don't know how to sum this up. It was amazing, yet in some aspects really sad.
And now we're here. Christmas was lovely, quite possibly the best. The new year is almost upon us.
So, 2012
I want to thank you.
For all the great things that you brought into my life.
I have people in my life that I didn't know a year ago, but who mean so much to me already. I have been able to keep my dearest friends and my beloved family and relatives throughout all the turmoil that you, 2012, have brought my way. I have loved and will continue to love because that's what you've taught me.
I must never stop loving.
I also want to thank you for the terrible things.
I've had to witness someone I love hurt and destroyed. I have been unhappy and depressed, perhaps more than I have ever been during the course of just one year. I have cried so many tears, some from such nonsense reasons, but some from true pain. These things made my life suck. But when I think about it, I would not be the person I am without them. And I quite like the person I am here, at the end of you, 2012.
I don't know what to expect from 2013.
But all I know for now
is that you, 2012
have been a year I will look back to
as the most eventful, wonderful, sad, terrible, bright and love filled year.
Goodbye.
